Acid Rain

Acid rain, acid rain, acid rain

Burning of the oil puts the gases in the air
That acidifies the water that falls down everywhere
Turns the lakes to deserts and kills the living trees
That purify the air and make it possible to breathe

Lots of people think that only cities are affected
But that's not the only place that the acids are detected
High up in the mountains of the Rockies and the East
Fish and trees are dying from the oil burning beast

In the heart of Europe the forests all are dying
It's doubtful we can save them but there's no use in crying
'cause America is next in line -- look out, here it comes

Global warming is the issue of the day
But acid rain didn't just go away
It's still out there with its sisters and brothers
Acid rain, the ozone hole, deforestation, and others
They're all part of the same crazy scheme
Like a nightmare, like a drunkard's dream

A giant ship too big to be turned
Burning fossil fuel

Acid rain, acid rain, acid rain
